Awards Banquet is Monday, June 8th @ 6pm in the commons.
We will be doing a pot-luck so start thinking about those great recipes you have on hand. To keep the dishes balanced, we suggest you plan to bring the following based on your last name:
A – J Main Dish*
K – R Salad/Side Dish
S – Z Dessert
Please plan to bring enough for 8 -10 people.

State Day 3 - Girls 4th @ State
With a flurry of 3rd & 4th place finishes, the Girls took home their 1st team Trophy by finishing 4th overall. In Coach Little's final season, the relays led the way with 3rds in the 4x100 & 4x200 and a 4th in the 4x400. 3rd pl. medals went to Cherelle in the 100, Kelley in the 300H with a 4th pl. and School Record for Carlyn in the 3200. Trevor took home another medal in the 3200 with a 7th pl. run and Sophie Wartena was 6th & Nate Solley was 7th in the 300 hurdles to round out the scoring.

State Day 2
Kelley Johnson brought home a 7th place medal in the 100 hurdles as the day was filled with more heats. The Girls 4x100, Kelley, Sophie & Nate in the 300 hurdles and Cherelle in the 100 all moved on to Saturday Finals.
State Day 1
Trevor Sytsma was 5th and Carlyn Schmidgall was 6th as they both brought home medals in the 1600 on a warm, sunny day in Tacoma. Carlyn improved her lifetime best by almost 6 seconds and Trevor was close to his best time in his 1st State appearance. The Girls 4x200 took a tumble on the 1st exchange but got up and closed hard to win their heat and move into the finals on Sat. The 4x400 team ran their season's best to move on as well. Kelley Johnson moved on to finals in the 100 hurdles.
5-22 & 23 District - Girls take team title
With wins in the 4x100, 4x200 & 300 hurdles and 2nd place finishes in the 3200, 4x400 & 200, the Girls took home their 1st District win. Trevor Sytsma won both the 1600 & 3200 for the boys as they finished 6th overall. Kelley Johnson lowered her school record for the 2nd week, dipping into the 45's for the win. Kelley also calmy picked up the baton to anchor a season's best 4x400 team to end the meet. Heading to State will be Andrew Cooper, Trevor Sytsma, Nate Solley & Romney Noel for the Boys and Cherelle Demps, Danielle Demps, Carlyn Schmidgall, Tyra Christopherson, Sophie Wartena, Kaiah Mclaren, Marissa Mills, Shannell Thompson & Kelley Johnson,
5-16 Sub-District Day 2
Kelley Johnson broke her 300 hurdles school record, taking the win in Sumner before dashing off to Prom. Trevor Sytsma picked up his 2nd crown of the meet in winning the 3200 after Carlyn Schmidgall took 1st in the 3200 for the girls earlier in the day.

5-14 Sub-District
On the first day of competition, the Girls 4x100 & 4x200 teams took home wins to move on to District next Friday. Individual winners were Trevor Sytsma in the 1600 and Romney Noel throwing a PB in the Jav.

Trevor & Sarah signed their Letters of Intent on 4-15. 4 years Varsity in both Track & XC, Trevor heads down to Pepperdine while Sarah stays close @ Seattle U.
4-4 Arnie Young Invite

Highlights of the day were Carlyn Schmidgall's 2A leading 3200 personal best, the Girls 2A state leading 4x400, another personal best from Jacob Todderud who just missed throwing 45' in the Shot and Abi Sanchez's 130' jav throw.

The Girls were 2nd overall, the Boys 3rd with Cherelle Demps taking Female Athlete of the Meet honors for her wins in the 100, 200 & 4X100. Other Liberty winners were: Trevor Sytsma - 1600; Kelley Johnson - 300 Hurdles; Andrew Baugh - High Jump; Danielle Demps - Long Jump and Andrew Cooper - 3200.

Both the Girls & the Boys took home team wins on a sunny day.
Mercer Island
5-8 - The Girls finished their season @ 6-1 after defeating Mercer Island. The 2009 record for the 4x200 was lowered by .20sec by the team of Tara Johnson, Shannell Thompson, Danielle Demps & Cherelle Demps. In dual meets this year, the Girls 4x100 and 4x200 teams went undefeated and 3 Liberty athletes went unbeaten: Kelly Johnson in the 100 & 300 hurdles, Cherelle Demps in the 100 & 200 & Kelli Anderson in the High Jump.

5-3 - On another rainy Seattle Saturday, Aaron Bowe shattered his school record in the 3200 set @ State last year with a stunning 9:06.67, taking 6th place @ Shoreline. With a season's best of 9:27, Aaron ran has 2nd mile 6 seconds faster than the 1st to steadily move up through the field and chased down the lead pack on last lap. At Lake Washington, the girls 4x400 team and Sarah Bliesner recorded season's best times.
5-1 - Girls 4x100 record from 2000 goes down @ Bellevue.
The team of Tara Johnson, Shanelle Thompson, Danielle Demps & Cherelle Demps had an outstanding day, beating the prev. 4x100 record and just missing the 4x200 record. Cherelle also won the 100 & 200 on a warm & sunny day that saw many personal bests.

4-24-14 - NO RAIN FOR SENIORS!!!
It looked doubtful @ 2pm, but the meet started with blue skies and lots of wins for the Patriots. The Girls got back into the win column with Cherelle, Danielle & Kelley J each taking 4 wins. Final score (may change after today's Pole Vault) was 102 ~ 39. The Boys were led again by Romney with 3 wins and got points from Wyatt Diaz & Andrew Baugh in the Pole Vault held Friday for a narrow 1st win of 2014, 73 ~ 69. Seniors Ashby & Aaron came through with exciting finishes in the 400 & 1600 for their final home meet.

4-17 - Liberty traveled to Mt. Si and was greeted with non-stop rain. Despite Kelley Johnson's 4 wins, strength in the field led to a narrow 79 ~ 71 loss. Aaron Bowe ran a strong 1600 and Romney Noel swept the hurdles but the boys also fell, 87 ~ 58.
4-5 - Aaron Bowe's 3200M Gold @ the Birger Solberg Invite in Bellingham was the top performance of many for the day. The Girl's 4x200 team took 2nd, and taking home bronze medals were the Girls 4x100 team, Kelley Johnson in the 300H, Danielle Demps in the Long Jump, Carlyn Schmidgall in the 3200 & Cherelle Demps in the 100.
4-3 - The girls won easily at home against Lake Washington, 89 ~ 48. Cherelle Demps & Kelley Johnson each had 2 indiv. wins and 2 relay wins to lead the girls. Other wins with lifetime bests came from Amy Ellenburg with an almost 20' improvement in the Jav, Maddie Mak in the Triple & Tyra Christopherson in the 3200. The boys were closer this week but fell short 72 ~ 63 with Romney leading the team with 3 wins. Adam Crowder threw a lifetime best in the Disc for the win.
3-29-14 - Girls Win Liberty Invite
With Cherelle leading the team with 2 wins & 2 second place finishes, the Girls rolled to a convincing win. Other gold medalists for the day were Tyra Christopherson in the 800, Carlyn Schmidgall in the 3200, Kelley Johnson in the 300 hurdles, the 4x100 team and Maddie Mak in the Triple Jump.
The Boys took 3rd in the meet (16 points behind winning Issaquah) with Aaron Bowe taking both the 1600 & 3200 races. Andrew Baugh was the other winner for Liberty in the High Jump.
Despite very wet conditions during the meet, the Parent Volunteers and Liberty Athletes did a tremendous job keeping the meet running smoothly and there were lots of positive comments from the visiting teams and coaches.
3-27-14 - The 1st meet of the year was a success for the Girls who defeated Jaunita 96 ~ 47 with Cherelle Demps & Kelley Johnson leading the way with 4 wins each. The Boys weren't as successful, losing 77 ~ 57 with Romney Noel picking up 3 wins. Full results posted in Athletic.Net.
