2021 Season
11-12 - Awards Banquet - Our 1st time @ the Lake McDonald clubhouse was a great success. After a slow start, the season started taking shape midway with the help of Team Captains Mark, Katie B & McKenzie. Awards: Most Valuable -Thomas Manson & Hannah Burns, Best State performance - Ben Archer, Coaches Choice - Katie Blauvelt, McKenzie Maresh & Mark Stevenson. 2022 Captains - Ben Archer, Olivia Burch & Kaya Hill. Great Job and thanks for all the help.

STATE - 2021
Moving up to 3A for 2021, both teams placed 13th of 20 overall on a sunny, windy day in Pasco. Leading the girls at the start was Soph Ally Marckel until being joined by fellow Soph Hannah Burns on the downhill finish stretch. Hannah was 62nd, Ally was 63rd and had a PR in 20:14. Chezley finished 7sec. later with Margeret following in 20:37. Next was McKenzie, Sophie & Sarah. The Liberty girls ran the smartest team race in 3A as they all passed runners throughout the race by running even splits on the tough State course. The 2021 squad ran a faster team average than the 2019 girls team and would have place 3rd overall if still in 2A! - Official Girls Results
In the Boys race, Soph Thomas Manson led the Pat pack thru 2mi with Ben Archer passing 15 runners in the last mile to finish 43rd with a 16:57. Thomas was 13sec back in 59th with Senior Mark Stevenson in 63rd in 17:12. Nick Ruiz passed 31 runners in the last mile to place 119th followed by Raymond, Cooper & Calvin. If the Boys had raced 2A, they would have taken 6th overall. The Boys also ran a smart race with lots of passing despite the increasing wind in the late afternoon.

DISTRICT FLASHBACK
10-30 - District - The Boys qualified in the final spot to head to State (with apologies to 2013 team who was the 1st Boys team to State as 3A), taking 6th overall. 5th thru 8th place were separated by 1pt. Led by Soph Thomas Manson in 17th, Ben Archer & senior Mark Stevenson finished together in 21st & 22nd. It took personal bests from Nick Ruiz & Cooper Rataezyk for Liberty to qualify.
The Girls were 5th, 1pt behind Seattle Prep with Soph Hannah Burns in 21st overall to lead the team, followed by Sr. Chelsea Hu. 6 of 7 LHS girls had personal bests for 5K despite 3 inches of rain on Wed/Thurs. Both teams head to Pasco on Friday.

10-23 - Kingco - After an 8 year absence in 3A, the LHS girls took the team title as they did in 2013. Led by Hannah Burns in 8th place, the next 4 runners followed in order with a 4sec spread between 1 ~ 5. For the Boys, Mark Stevenson was 2nd overall to lead the boys to a 3rd place team finish. Both Boys & Girls race @ Dist on Sat.
10-13 - Senior Day @ Liberty - A big thanks to all the parents who attended and supported the team throughout the year. With no rain on the day, the seniors had a great time (and then had to run).
10-9 - Hole-in-the-Wall - Light sprinkles didn't dampen fast times as most LHS runners set personal bests. Boys JV & Varsity both won team titles
10-6 - Marymoor - Flat & fast on a fall day.
10-2 - Curtis Invite - It was a great day to race and watch @ Chambers Bay. Both Boys & Girls team took 6th place overall with Thomas & Mark, Hannah & Margeret running together in their races to lead the scoring.
9-15 - Hazen
9-11 - Lake Wilderness - The temps were just right to splash to the finish.
9-8 - 1st Home Meet - Under warm sunny skies, LHS tried out the latest version of it's home course against Lake Wash & MI. Both Girls & Boys teams ran well even in the heat and for some, their 1st ever 5K. Chelsea led the Girls with a 2nd overall and Ben, Thomas & Mark went 1,2,3 for the Boys.
9-2 - Jamboree - Fine performances by Margeret & Ben who posted the fastest LHS times on a warm sunny day @ Lake Samm. Aggregate scoring saw both the Boys & Girls as the 2nd place Kingco 3A teams on the day.
2020 Season (Spring/Covid Edition)
4-3-21 - Lower Woodland - Echos of prev. seasons as LHS ran the District course and visited Dick's on 45th after. Senior gifts & captains for 2021 were bestowed.
3-24-21 - Mt. Si @ Liberty - The rain held off until the start of the Boys race and great help from Liberty parents made the meet a success. Anna led the Girls and Thomas was first in for the Boys on the challenging 3mile home course.
3-20-21 - Lake Samm - Mark won his 1st race and Anna recorded the fastest 5K by a Liberty girl as the shortened season comes to a close.
3-13-21 - @ Hazen - Liberty's 1st visit to Philip Arnold park was under sunny skies and a nice grass course. Thomas again led the Boys with Frosh Hannah Burns leading the Girls.
3-6-21 - 1st meet @ LHS - With typical March weather, Skyline & Liberty raced on the new LHS 2 mile course. Top runners for the Pats were Anna Grabowski - 2nd overall and Freshman Thomas Manson also in 2nd. Team scores were Skyline 27, LHS 30 for girls, Skyline 25, LHS 33 for Boys.

Making it to State Monday, 2010 ~ 2016
10-28 - District - After losing their top 4 from 2016, the road back to State for the girls required a team effort and the Patriots delivered. With Sophia (7th) and Siri (10th) together for most of the race, the 2 Seniors led the team to a 4th overall and the 8th consecutive trip to Pasco. The Boys nipped Cedarcrest to take 3rd overall with Luke (10th), Rory (12th) and soph Alex Chin (19th) leading the return to State for the fifth straight year.
10-21 - Kingco - Luke had the top run for Liberty, finishing 6th before the rains started. Alex Chin took 14th to make 2nd team Kingco and run a personal 5K best. Mehul Krishna also PR'd for the day. Siri led the girls in 12th with Bailee Hawkins & Brigitte Larkin getting PR's. In the JV races (Boys results are still not correct), Heidi Bennick, Laura Kouzmanova, Travis, Matt, Adam, Kaz & Phillip also PR'd.
10-11 - Bellevue/Kelsey Creek - A pretty fall day with no rain greeted Liberty at the farm. Luke had a PR leading the boys with Siri finishing a strong run for the girls. Most of the boys & girls had pr's. Photo review shows times to be correct for spacing between finishers.
10-7 Hole-in-the-Wall - Sophia was within a 1/2 sec. of her best 5K to lead the girls on a cloudy, not really rainy day. Siri was right behind as most of the Girls team set personal or season's best times. Luke, Rory & Alex again led the Boys with the rest of the team also getting season or personal bests.
10-2 - Redmond @ Liberty - The Girls won 28 ~ 29 with Siri, Sophia & Bailee going 1,2,4 on Senior Day. The Boys lost 18 ~ 41 with Rory, Alex Chin & Alex Hartford @ 5,6,7. Thanks to all the Parents who helped on a beautiful fall day!
9-30 - Portland - Sunny and warm early with rain late greeted LHS @ Portland Meadows. Luke & Siri again led the pack with both getting PR races. Amost all the boys had PR's with 6 of the girls as well.
