Champions... That one word sums up the Lady Patriots amazing post season run through the state tournament. It took a seven game win streak, outscoring opponents by an 18-3 margin, and beating the #1, #2, and #4 ranked teams in the state! What an accomplishment!
The Patriots set the pace early against Kamiakin with Junior Sami Harrell providing a beautiful cross to Sophomore Sydney Abel for the score in the first minute of the contest. The score was tied 1-1 at halftime. At the 53rd minute Sydney Abel returned the favor and provided a cross to Sami Harrell for the go-ahead and final score. Congratulations to all the Lady Patriots!
Lady Pats Arrive - Defeat Seattle Prep for Championship Berth!
Trailing 0-1 in the second half the Lady Patriots never gave up. Instead they increased the pressure on a tough Seattle Prep team and never relented. Senior Kali Youndahl's goal in the 62nd minute tied the score at 1-1 and it remained that way through regulation and two overtime periods. It took kicks from the mark from Jaquelyn Anderson, Rachel Phillips, Jordan Hemmem, Ashlan Applegate, and Tara Johnson to deliver the Liberty victory along with a great defensive save from Goalkeeper Amy Ellenberg.
Lady Pats Roll Into State 3A Semifinals!
The Bishop Blanchet Braves found themselves overmatched against a Liberty Patriots team riding a four game winning streak where they have outscored opponents 11-1. The 3-0 Patriots victory sends the team back to the state semifinals where they will face Seattle Prep next Saturday. Junior Sami Harrell led the team with two goals (with assists from Senior Ashlan Applegate and Junior Kelley Johnson) with Senior Jacquelyn Anderson adding another goal (assisted by Senior Kali Youngdahl and Junior Kelley Johnson). Senior Goalkeepers Katie McGuire and Amy Ellenberg earned the shutout.
No Doubt - Liberty Topples Top Seeded Columbia River
The Lady Pats were ready for their showdown with the top ranked Chieftans of Columbia River. The Chieftans had not surrendered a goal all year and were undefeated. A competitive first half ended with a 0-0 tie. Senior Jacquelyn Anderson scored first off an assist by Junior Sami Harrell. With time running out on the Chieftains, Sami Harrell ensured the victory by scoring off an assist from Junior Kelley Johnson. Senior Goalkeepers Katie McGuire and Amy Ellenberg earned the shutout. Next up in the state quarterfinal round is Bishop Blanchet this Saturday.
Pats Blast Cats
The Lady Pats guaranteed themselves at least one more post-season game and secured their 4th consecutive state birth by defeating the West Seattle Wildcats 4-0. The Patriots came out strong with with three first half goals. Seniors Ashlan Applegate and Kali Youngdahl along with Juniors Sami Harrell and Kelley Johnson each contributed a goal. Senior Goalkeepers Amy Ellenburg and Katie McGuire earned the shutout.
Lady Pats Triumph Over Islanders
The Patriots avenged last Thursday's loss to Mercer Island by riding Senior Jacquelyn Anderson goal to a 1-0 victory in a must win game. Anderson upped her scoring streak to four games.
The Lady Pats continue their quest for a state berth with a 3PM must win game this Saturday at Liberty High School versus West Seattle.
Lady Pats Rise, Saints Fall
Senior Jacquelyn Anderson scored twice and increased her scoring streak to three games. Senior Kali Youngdahl and Junior Jordan Hemem added insurance goals in Liberty's 4-1 victory. The Patriots face a familiar foe in Thursday nights loser out contest against Mercer Island.
Islanders Deny Lady Pats
It took a 80 minutes of regulation, 10 minutes of overtime, and kicks from the mark to determine the winner of Saturdays KingCo first round playoff game between the Lady Pats and the Mercer Island Islanders. The Islanders came away with the victory meaning the Pats now play Interlake this Tuesday in a loser out game. Senior Jacquelyn Anderson ran her scoring streak two games. Sophomore Sydney Abel also added a goal.
Lady Pats Clinch 2nd Place in KingCo
Avenging an earlier season 2-2 draw, the Lady Patriots dominated play in a 2-1 victory over the Mt. Si Wildcats. The win secured second place in the KingCo conference and a first round home playoff game. Senior Jacquelyn Anderson contributed an assist to Junior Sami Harrell's goal and also scored on a Penalty Kick (see picture on right).
Wolverines Hand Patriots Third Loss of Season
Junior Jordan Hemem's unassisted goal was once again the only score the Lady Pat could muster in a 1-4 loss against the first place Bellevue Wolverines.

Patriots and Islanders Draw in Fog Bowl
Junior Jordan Hemem's unassisted second half goal was the only score the Lady Pat could muster against a Islander team determined to avenge their 0-4 loss earlier this season. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. No overtime periods were played due to the heavy fog that rolled in during the second half of play. The Lady Pats resume play Thursday against the first place Bellevue Wolverines.
Lady Pats Roll on Senior Night!
The Lady Pats treated their Seniors to a 7-0 victory over the Sammamish Totems. The game was the last home conference game of the season and for the senior players. The win is the fourth straight and strategically places the Lady Pats 1 game behind league leading Bellevue. Senior Makenna Lindberg led the scoring barrage with 2 goals with Senior Jacquelyn Anderson adding an assist. Juniors Sami Harrell (1 goal, 1 assist), Kelley Johnson (1 goal, 2 assists), Julia Koontz (1 assist), Sophmores Amanda Hemmem (1 goal), Sydney Abel (1 goal), and Freshman Kendall Aramaki (1 goal) also contributed. Senior Goalkeepers Amy Ellenberg and Katie McGuire earned the shutout.
Patriots Win Third Straight
The Lady Pats won their third straight game Tuesday night with a 1-0 victory over the Lake Washington Kangs. Junior Sami Harrell scored the winning goal for Liberty with the assist provided by Senior Kali Youngdahl. Senior Goalies Amy Ellenberg and Katie McGuire were each awarded the shutout.
Patriots Vanquish Rebels
The Lady Pats notched their fifth victory of the season Thursday night with a 3-1 victory of the Juanita Rebels. Sophomore Jordan Hemmem scored first with additional goals provided by Junior Kelley Johnson and Senior Jacquelyn Anderson.
Lady Patriots Roll
In an anticipated rematch the Lady Patriots unleashed their offensive arsenal and defeated the Interlake Saints 5-3. Five Patriots contributed goals: Seniors Ashlan Applegate, Kali Youngdahl, and Shaniah Adriano, Junior Sami Harrell, and Sophomore Amanda Hemmem. Seniors Jacquelyn Anderson, Ashlan Applegate, and Kali Youngdahl also contributed assists. The win maintains the Patriots hold on second place with 6 remaining conference games.
Patriots and Wildcats Draw
Goals from Senior Jacquelyn Anderson (assist Sydney Abel) and Sophomore Sydney Abel (assist Sami Harrell) weren't enough to hold off a determined Mt. Si Wildcat team. Despite multiple opportunities the Lady Patriots settled for a 2-2 tie after completion of two 5 minute overtime periods.
Wolverines Trip Up Lady Patriots
In a mid season battle for first place the Lady Patriots weren't able overcome the undefeated Bellevue Wolverines. The Lady Patriots battled hard but couldn't capitalize on their opportunities and fell by a score of 0-3.
Lady Patriots Notch Second Straight
Senior Jacquelyn Anderson (1 goal, 2 assists) and Junior Sami Harrell (2 goals) led a potent Patriot attack resulting in a 4-0 victory over the Mercer Island Islanders. Senior Tara Johnson contributed an assist, Junior Kelley Johnson contributed the final goal, and Senior Goalkeepers Amy Ellenberg and Katie McGuire earned the shutout. The win moves the Pats into second place in the KingCo 3A/2A standings heading into Tuesday's home showdown against the undefeated Bellevue Wolverines (6-0 overall).
Pats Topple Totems
The Lady Patriots achieved their second league victory with a 2-1 win over the Sammamish Totems. Senior Jacquelyn Anderson scored Liberty's first goal in the first half with the final goal in the second half scored by Junior Kelley Johnson.
Pats Can't Bounce Kangs
The Lady Patriots fell behind early 0-1 to Lake Washington but battled back to tie the game at 1-1 midway through the second half on Junior Sami Harrel's unassisted goal. Both teams battled for the remainder of the game settling for the draw after two overtime periods.
Seniors Power Lady Patriots to First League Victory
The Lady Patriots secured their first conference victory of the season in a 6-0 victory over the Juanita Rebels. Senior Jacquelyn Anderson led the team with 2 goals along with contributions from Seniors Kali Youndahl (1 goal), Makenna Lindberg (1 goal, 1 assist), Ashlan Applegate (1 assist) and Goalkeepers Amy Ellenberg and Katie McGuire earning the shutout.
Lady Patriots Draw Against Interlake Saints
The Liberty Patriots settled for a 1-1 tie in their league opener at the Interlake Saints. Liberty took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Sophomore Amanda Hemmem's goal in the 40th minute on an assist from Sami Harrell. The Saints responded with a 66th minute goal. From there both teams battled until the final whistle and the resulting 1-1 tie .
Lady Patriots Drop Season Opener to Spartans
The Liberty Patriots fell 2-4 in Saturday's season open at Bainbridge against the hosting Spartans.
The Spartans scored in the opening minutes and led 0-2 in the second half when Junior Sami Harrell and Sophomore Sydney Abel each scored to knot the score at 2-2. Unfortunately, although the Lady Patriots continued to battle, their efforts fell short.
