5-25-12 -LIBERTY 9TH @ STATE - In their first state tourney appearance in 4 years, the Patriots played three gritty games to complete their season turn-around and confirm that Liberty softball is back on top.  Liberty made it into the 2nd consolation round to exit the tournament tied for 9th place.  The girls lost an exciting opener to state finalist and top-ten ranked Everett by a score of 5-1, then came back to eliminate Shadle Park (Spokane) with some big hitting and stellar defense to set up their final match with top-ten ranked Camas.  Liberty jumped on Camas early and lead early in the game with more big bats, aggressive base running, and top-notch defense before falling to injuries, fatigue, umpires, and Camas relief pitching.
