Baseball (Boys) - John Martin Fastpitch (Girls) - Brian Hartman Golf (Girls) - Michelle Warlick Soccer (Boys) - Darren Tremblay Tennis (Girls) - Mike Salokas Track / Field Boys - Mike Smith Track / Field Girls - Mark Little 5-11-12 - Liberty finished 5th @ District, led by State qualifier Krysta Dawson who was 9th overall. 4-23-12 - Last week Liberty had three matches, winning 2 of the three. Liberty won the first match against Juanita by 30 strokes! Krysta Dawson was the medalist with a 44 and Alex Duvall placed second with a 45. On Wednesday, Liberty lost a close match to Bellevue at home. Alex Duvall was the medalist with a 44 and Krysta plaed second with a 45. Thursday's match was a win against Mt. Si in the pouring rain. Krysta had a second place finish, Kirsten solders placed fourth and Brandi Petryk finished 5th. Our league record is now 2-2, and for the season we are 6 -4 3-22-12 - Lady patriot golfers won their tri team match against Interlake and Mt. Si with a team score of 265. Alex DuVall was the match medalist with an outstanding 42. Hanna Hanson, Taylor Woo and Christine Chappelle also had great days and continue to improve. 3-19-12 - Liberty placed second in our fist practice match of the season with Bellevue and Sammamish at Bellevue Municipal Golf Course. Highlights included Alex DuVall placing 2nd overall and Freshman Taylor Woo shooting a 59 in her first match ever! BOYS SOCCER Congratulations to the following soccer players who were selected to the Kingco 3A all league teams.

FASTPITCH5-25-12 -LIBERTY 9TH @ STATE - In their first state tourney appearance in 4 years, the Patriots played three gritty games to complete their season turn-around and confirm that Liberty softball is back on top. Liberty made it into the 2nd consolation round to exit the tournament tied for 9th place. The girls lost an exciting opener to state finalist and top-ten ranked Everett by a score of 5-1, then came back to eliminate Shadle Park (Spokane) with some big hitting and stellar defense to set up their final match with top-ten ranked Camas. Liberty jumped on Camas early and lead early in the game with more big bats, aggressive base running, and top-notch defense before falling to injuries, fatigue, umpires, and Camas relief pitching.
5-16-12 - Liberty Wins State Spot - Liberty dispatched Chief Sealth in the first round of Sea-King District play, and then shredded the Holy Names pitching to advance to the Sea-King semi-finals on May 17. By reaching the semi-finals, Liberty has assured themselves a bid to the 2012 State 3A Fastpitch Tournament. The victories were truly a team effort, with every player contributing. Sidney Hopper and Amber Smith both took the pitcher's circle to shut down Chief Sealth 17-5, while Sydney pitched a complete second game against Holy Names in the 10-7 win 5/11/12- Patriots Advance to District Playoffs!!
Liberty persevered against a tough Bellevue squad for a 5-2 victory, advancing as the Kingco #4 seed to district playoffs. Bellevue was eliminated from post-season play, having finished in the top 4 in state the past two years 5-2-12 - The Patriots bested Sammamish 12-6 on Senior Night, the final home game of the 2012 season. Senior Amber Smith started the game and earned the win, pitching 4 innings and giving up 1 earned run. Offensive accolades go out to Senior Amber Smith (2 for 2, 1 RBI), Senior Ana Faoro (2 for 5 with a double, 1 RBI, 1 run), and Senior Taylor Weik (1 for 4 with a triple, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored). Defensive kudos to Senior Denise Blohowiak for a solid performance at shortstop and as a leader 5-1-12 - Liberty hosted Lake Washington in an arduous defensive battle, losing 3-2 in one of the best games of the season. The Patriots led through the 5th inning, yielding the lead and the game to a succession of Kangaroo hits and rare miscues in the 6th. Sydney Hopper pitched the complete game, walking 2 and striking out 3. On offense, Miranda Bukantz went 2 for 2 with 1 RBI, Alyssa Wash went 2 for 3, Joshilynn Wolff went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI, and LIza Van Camp went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored. |
TRACK & FIELD6-2-12 - Josh Gordon, Hamilton Noel & Joe Bergman all competed in the Wash. State Multi-Events Championships over 2 days @ Lake Stevens HS. All 3 broke the existing Decathalon School Record of 4673 pts. Josh took 3rd overall with 5735 pts, Ham was 11th with 4963 pts & Joe was 14th with 4847 pts. This was their 1st decathalon and the 1st time competing in many of the 10 events for each of them.
5-30-12 - 2010 grad and Track & XC runner Brandon Thomas died Tues from a fall from his residence hall while attending the Univ. of Wash.
Brandon was a special individual that was liked and respected by everyone he met and will be sorely missed. Brandon's memorial service is scheduled for Sat. June 9th, 11am @ New Life Church, 15711 152nd Ave. SE, Renton (Maple Valley Hwy next to Renton Christian), 425-226-0880. 2 school records were broken over the 3 day competition in Tacoma. Danielle Richards broke her Pole Vault record to take 6th in a 10' 6" jump. Josh took repeat Gold in the Long Jump, then placed 3rd in the Triple Jump & 6th in the High Jump before anchoring a record breaking 1600 relay team ( Hamilton Noel, Joe Bergman, Hiron Redman & Josh) that took the Bronze medal. Other medalists for Liberty: 800 - Hiron Redman in 4th 400 relay - Danielle Demps, Cherelle Demps, Liz Ryker & Danielle Richards in 5th. 1600 relay - Aimee Christensen, Megan Larson, Megan Chucka & Liz Ryker in 5th. Pole Vault - Hamilton Noel in 8th 5-18-12 - In their best District showing in school history, the Girls took 3rd place in team scoring to advance 11 athletes to State. The Boys also finished 3rd and send 6 to State. 3 school records were broken: Danielle Richards - 10' 0" Pole Vault, Hiron Redman - 1:53.08 800M & Megan Chucka - 5:10.55 1600M 5-16-12 - Liberty advanced 4 to State on the 1st day of District action. Josh Gordon won the Triple Jump, Trevor Merritt was 3rd in the Javelin, Hamilton Noel was 4th in Pole Vault and Megan Chucka was 4th in the 3200. All will compete next week in Tacoma
5-11-12 - The Girls repeated as Kingco Champions, beating Juanita by less than 3pts to cap their undefeated dual meet season. Megan Chucka led the girls with 2 Golds with Megan Larson, Emily Pestil-Dimmit & Danielle Richards also picking up League Titles.
Josh Gordon broke his High Jump record with a 6' 7" leap on his way to 4 gold medals but it wasn't enough as the Boys finished 3rd. 5-3-12 - 2 more school records were broken @ the ISD meet. Megan Chucka lowered her 1600 best again. Josh Gordon took down the 1992 best in the 400M.
5-2-12 - Senior Danielle Richards broke the school Record by 3" in the Pole Vault, jumping 9' 9". 4-28-12 - The boys took 3rd in the 78 team Shoreline Invite led by Josh Gordons 2 seconds & 2 third place finishes. The Boys finished with an exciting 3rd pl. 4x400. Over @ the Lake Wash. Invite, Megan Larson broke the 800m record for good with a 2:19.12 in 6th, then ran on the 4th place 4x400 team. 4-26-12 - Liberty Girls Dual Meet Champs, Boys Co-Champs Led by Emily Pestl-Dimmitt's 2 wins, the girls team went 7-0 with their win over Lake Washington to claim the 3A Kingco regular season title. The Patriot Boys team also won, 95-45 to go 6-1 for the season. GIRLS TENNIS |
